I have 165 acres that has not been thouched for years in northern AL. Nobody can hunt or has for years. Its all mine!  It starts off with a hill top with a fire lane all around.  As you go down 10 to 20 foot pine tree and THICK brush. YOu can barely get though.  As you get through that it goes to hard wood and opens up a little. At the bottom There is a huge ditch. I dont know how they jump it.  Then you go about 100 yrds and there is a half acre field. My farther in law has been planting rye grass for years.  In the fire lanes it to be the place to be. Scrapes, scrapes and scrapes. There are many, many trails going down to the field.  They never come out in the field it seem until night. I thought that I would plant corn (not real thick) and not cut it. Then plant other stuff later.  My thought is that they will feel more secure. There are a few 8 pointers but small racks. I want to do a real good food plot but not sure what to plant and when.  My paw in law saids just plant rye.  They are not worried about that rye.  I say give them what they want a 1/2 acres garden. You cant keep them out of that. He saids I dont need to be spending all that money on the stuff you see in stores. If you do and you have a some good bucks, they will cross the road or jump the fence and someone else will shoot them.  Well I want to try.  What do you recomend I do with the 165 acres? Any advice will be appreciated.  THanks  I will send pic if needed.
