| Even though the man-made cutoff point of the Atlantic hurricane season has come and gone, it does not mean that Mother Nature has to obey those deadlines. A new area of low pressure has developed about 200 miles east of Puerto Rico. The disturbance is not highly organized with the majority of thunderstorms remaining north of the low pressure's center of circulation. Environmental conditions remain slightly favorable for further organization but it is possible that a tropical or subtropical storm may form within the next 24 hours. Even if the disturbance does not organize further, it will still bring gusty winds and squalls of tropical downpours to the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola.
