Tonya and I bought a Honda Accord in the Fall of 89.  It was a 90 model 2 door Honda Accord LX 5speed.  Bought it off the truck, it still had the protective plastic on the hood, panels and trunk.  She drove it, then I drove it, then we used it as a back up.  It had just a little over 329,000 on it in 2003, and I was at a shop I used to get the oil changed and I was pretty good friends with the owner.  The young guy that was changing the oil commented on the high miles, and I told him it had been a great automobile, but I was really about tired of driving it.  He told me he would like to talk to me about buying it, that he needed a car.  He had two jobs and had to get a ride to both, he was newly married and his wife was expecting.  I told him I would talk to him when ever he was ready.  He asked what would I take for it, and my reply was I really don't know what it's worth, how about $1000.00?  He said he would like to show it to his wife and I told him where I lived.

He and his wife drove around the subdivision I lived in, after I tried to teach him how to drive a stick.  And they loved it.  I sold them that Honda for $500.00 and wish I would have given it to them.  I seen it two weeks ago, and it still runs and has almost 400,000 on it.

I drove it 329,000 and he is still driving it.  How many miles you ever put on a ride?

I had about 200,000 on my Ford Ranger when I sold it to a Mexican for $1000. As fasr as I know, it's still in Mexico running strong.

I'll have to re-visit this thread in a few years. I have an 03 civic with almost 100,000 now. With my new job running me almost 1,000 miles per week, it won't take long to post some big numbers. EVERYTHING is far away in Texas.

i have never kept a vehicle longer than about 3 or 4 years. but, my 97 ford f150 that i bought used had 126k on it when i traded it in to astro for the wifes expedition.

i did put 3867 miles on my company car in one month though. last october.

my aunt put 1 million miles on a early 80's volvo. she bought it in germany and drove it at every duty station they went to. she traveled all over europe in that thing. when she broke the mark she called the dealer where she bought it. about a month later she received a return phone call from some big wig at volvo. he was calling to thank her for her loyalty to volvo and to let her know that they would be giving her a brand new one of her choice. i didn't think it would really happen but they stood behind it.  she's still driving the second volvo.

A friend of mine had a ford ranger that had 497000 on it.  He bought it used so I don't know how many he drove it, but he gave it to his younger brother who still drives it.  It looks like a heap, but gets him there.  It has to have well over 550000 on it now.

Is a Ranger American Made?

A half million miles on 1 car, 1 motor.  Dang, that is value.
