| I have yet to have one in any home I have owned, but one soon will have a Man Room that is mine to do as I please with everything about it. I want an old couch, large flat screen (for College Football), Fridge, Pool Table, Outside Shower, and all kinds of assorted sporting goods (storage). What all would you have in a dedicated Man Room in or in the backyard at your home?

It would definately resemble a bar room. A Juke box that takes money, dart board, posters of girls from gaff magazine, and probably taxidermy like a trophy room from all sorts of memories throughout my life.

Recliner, TV, Stereo, fireplace, outdoor kitchen off to the side and a bathroom with no feminine hygene products in it.

To go along with the bathroom/feminine products stuff, one of my buddies in Germany lived off post and the place he rented had a urinal in the bathroom of the home. I have thought since then that was neat and would like to have one in my bath so the wife can't fuss about the seat. Don't suppose that really is about a "Man Room", but something I would like nonetheless.
As for the man room, since I have been married my wife and I have always had at least 2 bedrooms where we lived and most of the time the spare bedroom was my man room. While I was in service, that is where I kept all my uniforms, out of our room. The standing rule was this: That is my room to do with as I please, that means, no rearranging of furniture, no decorating, no nothing that I didn't want. Now the downside to that, was that was my room to clean as well. When we got a dog, I wanted it outside (upbringing - no pets in house period!!) and she wanted Dixie inside (upbringing - dogs only went out to use the potty), I used to get FURIOUS very quickly when I found/saw Dixie in my man room. As a joke, my wife went to the store and bought me a "No Trespassing" sign and used a magic marker to write the following on it: He-Man Woman Haters Room! - No Women, No Dogs Allowed (I still have that sign 8 years later). When my wife became pregnant about three years ago, I had to say goodbye to my man room to make a place for my son's room. Some sweet day, I will have me another man room and when I get it, there will be a big plaque that will go on my door stating "No Women, No Dogs without express consent from owner". As for the decorating, I have some nice Civil War Prints and a few plaques from my military service that were up in my last room. Since then, my wife and paw-in-law took the head from the first buck I killed on his lease (7 pt. - to me the first racked buck), had it mounted, and gave it to me for father's day last year. That will definitely go in the next man room.

| Mine would be a garage with all of the tools I can use to work on wood, metal and vehicles. I guess a nice stereo would be good in there.

There is a slim chance that I will be moving into a new place that has a nice sized man garage in the back yard. There will be a couch, a stereo, dart board, bait freezer, and a fridge for my beer. Oh and I can't forget a dedicated area for all my fishing stuff. I also plan on having a glass case full of fishing pictures like you see at local bait shops.

| My man room consists of multiple areas. I would want a decked out theater room with projector and a ground shaking sound system. Every seat in the room would recline. Would have beer fridge close by as well. Then there would be door leading outside to my Tiki bar that is next to the pool. Would like it to look something like this.

that is awesome but you need a ajoining room with a pool table and a poker table, full stock wet bar, dart boards, videos games, indoor archery range, pistol range, smoke house, meat curing shed for the jerky, and just for fun your own indoor piantball turny area. that would do to start anyway i sure their is more that could be added on later! ya!

Yeah, That's the ticket. I envy the folks farther north for their ability to have basements. Basements make the perfect man rooms. And with multiple adjoining areas in a basement, you could make one killer man AREA. But I will take the coast and the weather here over a basement all day.

| Here are some shots of my man room. I got to design it myself. Gun safe, Flat screen TV, Bose surround sound, Frig, pool table, vaulted ceilings. I would have liked to have had different seating but the pool table took up so much space. These chairs are actually very comfy and the slide around on the floor easily. I had a somewhat limited space 16' x 23'.

My man room does get occasionally violated as you can see Marnie throws the outdoor cushions under the pool table when it rains, even though there is a closet out in the lanai for them I wish I would have made the room a little larger but it is good for me as we rarely have many people over.

| Concrete walls, floors, & cealing with a drain in the center of the room. That way when you have crazy parties you can just hose it out.

| boardfeet that is pretty awesome man, very nice!! My man room would also be a he-man woman haters club. Not that I hate women but I want it to be a place where guys can be the disgusting creatures we are. It would have a kegerator and a full fridge, a full bar and a little sink. The walls would be covered in sports memorabilia and fishing trophys and pictures. It would also have a 60 in LCD tv, Bose surround sound, a pool table, a dart board and a poker table. The furniture would be a couple of old comfy couches and a couple of well broken in La-Z-Boys. In one corner would be a work bench with everything you need for fishing gear maintenance, rod building and fly tying even though I don't know how to do the last 2. The air would be filled with the constant sound of good music, ESPN and the Florida Fishing Report and all PFF Wednesday night meet-ups would be held there. Oh yea I almost forgot about the maid service that comes in and cleans and restocks after every get together.

A few years back my dad had the perfect man room. The house had a walk out basement. In the basement we had a regulation pool table, dart board, ping pong table, bar, frig, stereo, bathroom, TV, even had a large missile hanging on the wall that my dad found on the side of the road. To top it off, step out the door to a hot tub that had a waterfall into a pool. It was the ultimate man room, but he sold the house a few years after we built it (read: he got married party room had to go).

| Did anyone mention a pinball machine? I've always wanted a pinball machine...those things filled many of my empty hours (not to mention my pockets) when I was a kid. And it better damn well give 5 balls for a quarter - none of this three balls for fifty cents crap!

There is no doubt that looks great and must be wonderful to have. You spent some time planning no doubt as well. As nice as your Man Roof is, do you ever have a problem with it being too nice? College Football games, food, beer, darts, pool chalk, Man Shoes and typical Man Room Activities can be messy, and that room is very nice. But it does look very nice, congrats.

I must admit, I am pretty lucky. I have 2 man rooms!! One is the back living room with the theatre system and some autographed movie posters, sports memorabilia, taxidermy. The second is spare bedroom with my fly tying table, rod racks, book cases, magazines, and collection of plastic models. No, not the inflatable ones! On ly thing thaqt I would change in either one of them is the couch, carpet, and paint in the theatre room. Nothing wrong with them, just not fancy like the one shown above.

The room above in the thread is beautiful, and I love it, but I would prefer something with a lower level of maintenance. I am going to put my feet on the furniture and I might spill something, Heck, that is why I want a "ManRoom" anyway, to be free of the Clean and maintained part of the house...
