Dad fished the sound for a few hours this morning looking for some reds. Caught one red 27" exactly. 6.8lbs.

Nice fish Brant, hard to find this time of year...KUDO's...but Pink Floyd  (from your youtube selection) at their current age just don't sound like they did, when I was in my 20's!

KEEP AN OCCASSIONAL RED HERE AND THERE FOR DINNER, BUT FOR
THE REST, PRACTICE HEALTHY CATCH & RELEASE TECHNIQUES
SAVE SOME FOR THE FUTURE!

I knew it was getting close! I sure hope they are stacked up this year because I seemed to have missed them completely at the pier.

Brant,

If you dont mind my asking, what are ya'll using for the reds?

I fished all afternoon yesterday on the North side of the sound. I saw a bunch of reds in 18" - 30" of water but they wouldn hit anything. Tried Gulp shrimp & jerks and gold spoons they just turned their noses up and swam away.

They are fun to watch & sneak up on but its frustrating when you cant get them to bite.

Its very tough to get the reds in Santa Rosa sound to bite. Theres alot of Pressure, alot of bait for them, and the water is very clear. I usually throw as small of a soft plastic that I can get away with. I try to go with as light of wieght as possible too.
