Had a trip today with Morgan and his family. They didn't want to leave the bay so we decided to try some grouper fishing since the bite has been pretty good lately. We tried a flounder spot first thing and caught a beautiful fish. After that we went searching for a keeper grouper. We caught lots of short fish, probably 7-8 and one keeper. Hooked several nice fish that got the better of us. Everybody had a great time and we managed to dodge the storms this morning. Here are a couple pictures.

That is a beautiful flounder! Did you get a weight on it? From the picture he looks like a 6-7 pounder. Nice looking gag too. It sounds like you left some gags with some souveneirs. Good job once again.

That flounder looks bigger than the grouper!
Good job Matt.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. You know, other than size I can't really tell the difference between a southern and gulf flounder, but it seems like this one was way too big to be a gulf flounder. I didn't get a weight but it was a nice one. What three dots are you talking about? I agree the pictures don't do the grouper justice, he was over 26" long, but looks barely legal.
