I'm trying to use this site: ,http://www.chemical-ecology.net/java/lat-long.htm, to figure out distance from the pass to certain numbers.  Say you have latitute coordinates of 30 14.465, how would you plug these into the boxes?  What I did is put 30 in the degrees box, 14 in the minutes box, and 4.65 in the seconds box.  Is this right? If so, is it the same way for the longitude?

You are inputting them in wrong, it should be like this....30.1405...as example.  Now with Long., you have to put a zero infornt of the leading number...087.2015...as example. The decimal always follows the degrees.  Now with seconds, I usually round up the tenths place to the whole number b/c you cant get that close with a GPS anyway, you are talking inches, so for your 4.65 seconds, just make is 05 seconds.

See ya out There!!!

Jeremy, I understand what you are saying but am a little confused about how to plug them into the website.  There is 3 boxes for the lat and 3 for the long. (deg, min, sec)
