Hello all, I have been lurking for a while - this is a great site! Yep, I'm an out-of-stater hoping to do a little fishing and hope that you can offer some advice - not asking for much in a first post am I.... I don't want to intrude on anyones spot or anything and I am more than willing to show you some good bass and trout in Kentucky if you make it up/through our area.
Not a total newb, I have my toes wet in a little Gulf surf light tackle fishing. Caught a few Ladyfish, trout, pomps, spanish and redfish etc in/around Ft. Morgan/Sand Island, to Panama City Beach to Sanibel, Captiva... And the Indian River, even a couple small sharks on Cocoa Beach years ago (not my target this trip with this tackle). I am really looking forward to relaxing with the family in Pensacola Beach coming up in two weeks but would love to cast a line and catch something - anything. I play by the rules and practice catch and release - although certainly not a purist or snob.
Typically like to fly and spin fish but this trip is going to be the one light spin and one small box in the pocket kind of thing. 6.5' medium light IM7 rod, 10#/12# test, have zara, rapala, yozuri, no-name surface and shallow crank baits that have worked before. May try the "sandfleas" and it sounds like I need to become educated on "gulps"!!
I will be on foot as the condo is on the beach between Ft. Pickens SP and Pensacola Beach Blvd. I would greatly appreciate any pointers (lure/bait) and directions (about here/there) - again, I hope to add and not take away from you guys and I would more than welcome you here for very respectable pond/lake largemouth, creek/river smallies or tailwater rainbow and brown trout.
Thanks in advance and feel free to email me.

| Well, we made it! Got my lic. and a few things like DOA and a few Gulps - ready to hit it. Don't need any hand holding or anything but if anyone wants to go shoot me a PM. I am near Portifino. Going to try and hit the beach and then grass in the bay.

| If you are at portofino, just walk directly to the beach and start casting... in the last two weeks, that is where I have fished and caught ladyfish hardtail and cat fish all on a small reel. With my bigger one, i have caught big sharks and some nice blue fish.

Go just East of Pfino and go to the backside of the beach with live shrimp under a cork.
Plenty of small trout out there in the early A.M.

THANKS!
I am just west of portifino. Was on the beach this a.m. But nothing... Sure it was just me. I was told by the GBB&T not to use gulps on the beach - accurate?
Was going to try ft. Pickens in the a.m.
