I had a huge time reading about guitarist and fast cars and concerts last night. Brought back alot of memories.

When I was in High School me and 3 buddys went to Miami/Key West for a week. We were gone a complete week and missed a couple of days of school after spring break. I don't think I slept more than 8 hours the whole time we were gone. The trip didn't stop until we got back home. We done everything we could afford to do, and a bunch we couldn't. Met more people than I could ever begin to remember, and not a bad one in the bunch.

Me and two of me buddys have gotten together and went back several times, it just ain't the same as an adult....

Dang.

A friend PMed me and told me the thing he has lost that he remembers being upset most about was a all the men to his Superbowl Football game. You may remember the steel top football feild game that had plastic players and the top vibrated and the players moved around out of control. Well he lost his players, Dang that's bad. Could you imagine only having the vibrating steel playing surface.....Uhhhhh Thats bad.

Ever shave your head?

I like to get up early in the morning and do stuff, and normally find myself running behind when getting ready to leave, because I get caught up in doing things. Recently I have been exercising in the morning and I have gotten to where I really enjoy it and look forward to it every morning, but that extra hour is hard to fit into my schedule.

I have always had short hair and I decided to shave it off last week, thinking it would be easier to get ready in the mornings and just be one less thing to have to fool with, plus I aint much to look at with or without hair. Boy, was I wrong.......

Just like your face, you almost have to shave your head everyday, and it takes more time than fooling with hair.

A bald head is alot of maintainance.

My hair is off to you bald guys.

What is the best shape you have ever had your body in?

A couple of months ago I started getting up and exercising every morning and trying to do the same thing every night. My wife and I started walking a couple of miles and now we go about 5 miles when we walk. But, I have gotten into this, and I feel great. I run and walk broken up 5 miles each morning, this morning it took me 1 hour and 8 minutes to go the 5 miles, which is down from around 1 hour and 25 minutes a couple of weeks ago. When I started a couple of months ago, I weighed 257, this morning I weighed 226, and like I said feel great.

In high school I was in very good shape, but not since then. I have enjoyed the way I feel and look forward to each morning run/walk, and getting better. I don't know if I can get back to the shape I was in back in high school, but I think I can get close. If I do or don't I don't guess it really matters, but it is cool to feel better and have the energy that I already feel.

Has anyone else gotten back to their teenage body/shape?

Our annual Sportsman's Night Out event is coming up Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6:00 PM. This is a family event that will be held at the Family Life Center on the campus of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. This years guest speaker is Scott Vernon of fulldrawministries.org. We will have dinner, listen to Scott's testimony, and then give out door prizes.

The prizes this year include a 30-06 rifle/scope combo, muzzle loader/scope combo, new whisper creek compound bow, 3 day guided whitetail hunt with Brian Daniels Outfitters, 2 day guided whitetail bow hunt, gift cards to Outcast Hunting and Fishing, $125 gift certificates to Coles Taxidermy, and much more. I had the most scariest moment in my life yesterday morning. My wife has had a stomach bug since Sunday. She could not keep anything down. We went to sleep and woke up Monday morning. She got in the shower and about 5 minutes later I hear her call me. I get in there just in time for my wife to collapse. She is unresponsive and starts to shake. I get to the phone and call 911. For about 30-45 seconds (seemed like a lifetime) she was limp in my arms, but was still breathing very slowly. She finally started to come to a little bit. I start shoving fluids down her and she comes to a bit more. I am freaking out. Paramedics finally get there with her concious and slowly getting better.

She finally becomes somewhat stable, but her heart is racing like crazy. We get to the ER and her heart rate does not come down and they do some blood work. Well they say her clotting factors are high and they need to do a CT to rule out a blood clot in her lung. Well the CT comes back as somewhat inconclusive, but showed something that they need to investigate further. At this point, I just do not know what to think. My heart is just sinking with all the thoughts that are running through my mind. So they do a more invasive test to double check. At this time I have just about lost it. Because the doctor is telling me that this is serious stuff and could kill her if we don't rule out a pulmanary embolism in her lung and treat it if she does indeed have a PE. That test comes back clean.

So the long day at the hospital was because of dehydration. I was finally relieved.

The moral of this story is to tell you to hug your loved ones and take nothing for granted. When my wife went limp in my arms I just can not explain the pain, or the emotions that were going through my head. Everything seems to fine now and she is doing much better.

But please hug your kids and your spouse and tell them you love them. For a moment yesterday, I thought I was going to lose my wife. It was the most scariest event in my life to date. Take nothing fore granted and don't let little things get in the way of you and the ones you love. This event has opened my eyes quite a bit as to how precious life is and how much my wife means to me.

This may sound stupid, but I will never forget it as long as I live. I once coached a Church Softball Team, and we entered an industrial league tournament. We were a longshot to make it through the first round Friday. It was a double elimination tournament, and we lost our first game in the second round on Sat. Morning. We played the losers backet and played to the final, and the other team was unbeaten. We played them two games and won both.

I will never forget how it felt to overcome such practically impossible odds. It was a great moment in each of the teammembers lives. I have no doubt that each one of them remember it as well as I do.

What is the best Concert you have ever seen live?

I love music, all music. Last night there was a bunch of posting about guitars, and AC/DC. I saw AC/DC when I was in 7th grade, and still today I think I was way too young to go to an AC/DC concert, but I loved it.

I have seen many bands in concert, but two stand out. ZZTop in Tallahassee was the loudest by far and they put on a great show.

Van Halen was the best party concert and crowd I have ever seen to date. I seen them in Atlanta, It was really like 75000 people showed up to party together including the band. I don't think there was anyone there that didn't have an absolute HUGE time, including Alex VanHalen.

I know someone that was at "The Dance" when Fleetwood Mac performed it live. I understand it was magic as it took place. He said it was like they never missed a day playing together, and they were so good it was like he was listening to a recording. I wish I could have seen that, when it happened. Lindsey Buckingham is Great.

What is the fastest you have ever driven/riden?

Yesterday there was a news report that told of a motorcycle club out of Pensacola that was traveling together westbound on I-10. An Alabama State trooper clocked some of them at speeds up to 140 mph. Knowing he couldn't catch them, he radioed ahead and sat up a roadblock on the I-10 bridge over Mobile Bay. The were all caught if I am not mistaken. One was a woman.

140mph is fast........I rode a Ninja on I-10 between Tallahassee and Lake City once at about 130mph, and I was beginning to be lifted off the seat and the broken line was begining to look solid.

When I'm working, I've been noticing the same car sitting on the South side of Navarre bridge and someone out there fishing. I thought geeezzzz this guy must be catching the mess outta fish to be here almost every night of the week! So I spoke to him early this AM while I was running radar and he had caught a few white trout but nothing special. He is from Peru (married a military gal)and doesn't know a lot about fishing so I talked to him a while. He's only been in the states for about 6 months...Anyhow he had a small mutt lab with him on a leash tied the leash around a rock. When I needed to go, I gave him my cell # so if he had any problems or ??? he could call me. I wasn't gone an hour when he called me crying. He said that someone speeding, of course, ran over his dog and killed it :angel . I'm not sure if he was packing up and the dog got loose or it just got loose while he was fishing??? He said the person didn't even stop!!!:banghead For all those on here that don't realize it or don't respect it (the speed limit), you'll get caught. It is 35 MPH on the whole island... I just met the guy and he is a heck of a nice guy and I felt sooooo bad when he called me....He told me he wouldn't be coming out to fish tonight cause of the event:banghead:angel

If any of ya'll go out there to fish, his name is Alex and seems receptive to any info on fishing. I told him I'd bring him a few things to help him out...He seemed lonely (his wife is in Iraq and he does not work right now), so if anyone wants to fish in that area and see a small new white Toyota out there on the South side of the big bridge, stop by and say hi!

MOST MEMORABLE DAY IN MY LIFE

Hi,
I haven't posted in forever since I haven't really fished for several weeks now, but I needed to share this.
My wife just had our [b]first child[/b], a little girl named Camille. It was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed. The emotions, the new sense of responsibility, the absolute love you experience is unlike anything that can be imagined until you actually go through it.
It is, I believe, one of the only miracles I will ever witness in my life.
Mom and baby are doing great and dad is still in the clouds! :)

Strange things your parents taught you to eat?

My father is the greatest person I have ever met. But..... when I was a child he would eat some strange stuff.

My parents celebated their 50th anniversary this past weekend, and I ate a piece of Apple Pie with a melted slice of cheese on it. It is wonderful. My father taught me that and I won't eat apple pie any other way, honeybuns are just as good, heated in a microwave with a slice of cheese on top.

He also likes a cold glass of buttermilk with crumbled up cornbread in it. I still cannot do that. Not even the buttermilk alone. He loves it.

My mother loves Catalina dressing on pizza. She also likes syrup on fried fish.

What kind of strange things did your parents try to get you to eat? You know they did.

Is there a gun shot somewhere close by as well? The little gun I'm looking at is about 70-80 bucks cheaper at Sports Authority (from best I can tell via website) then at the local gun shop. I hate not shopping local because they did help me out a lot, but dang, price is price.

Business card advice

O.K. the wagon is rolling before the wheels are on it. I've been working on the menu and business card. Clay-doh thinks the business card needs more flash - my thought was that the more sterile/black and white the card was, the more clean/safe the business would be read. Clay-doh says the card should sell - thus color/pictures...

My first go 'round is with some higher educators, so I don't want to come off too flashy. Oh, the "flare" is for the fire in the food, not "flair" for talent/gift. I'm not sure about that one either.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I lost my wallet this past weekend, I found it, but it took most of the day Sat. I was fairly frantic and worried about not finding it, when I did I was very relieved that I didn't have to go through the canceling and renewing stuff that I would have otherwize.

I have lost lots of stuff, good stuff and not so important stuff. I lost a brand new pair of Costas this past year. I once left a very nice .308 Rem Sendero topped with a Kahles leaning beside a tree on a lease that I hunted. I think another member picked it up, and more or less stole it, due to everyone in the lease knew it belonged to me, but regardless I lost it.

What is your most valuable loss?

I have been keeping up with the olympics since they started, watching them most of the time they are on tv. I have noticed that when other countries besides china do a routine or race...anything...they dont get that great of a score...but when china goes, the announcers, and even my bud light drinking ass notices mistakes on the things they do...but they still seem to come out with the highest scores.....whats up with this...is it rigged or are the announcers and me stupid.

I have 3 racks of baby backs on the grill right now. Each time I grill baby Backs I pick out some that have a small portion of the tenderloin left on the inside of the front of the rack. If I pick out a good one it will have tenderloin on the inside of about 3-4 ribs. I pick then intentionally, to eat them at the grill. As the ribs are finishing I pull the little piece of tenderloin off and nobody knows about it but me. You can do the same thing with T-Bones.

What do you grill that never makes it into the house?

I will add the name of the tumor tomorrow, but we just wanted to thank everyone for your support and let you guys know they couldn't remove all of it and now its going to be there as long as he lives. All they said they can do to it is shrink it. We are pretty beat up about it and I am sorry to vent this to you all, but you guys have become like family to me and I needed to talk to you guys. Thanks, and I'll post again with more in the morning, it was a 13 hour surgery and didn't go well.
